Initial

  • Committee Charter +

    Creating a plan oversight and management structure that details the delegation of responsibilities and includes the identification of the committee and its members, committee responsibilities and governing procedures, voting procedures, process for updating members and any limits on their authority.

  • Investment Policy +

    Documenting the governance procedure plan investment fiduciaries will use for selecting, monitoring and replacing investment options in an ERISA plan to assist with prudent management of plan assets, managing fiduciary liability for both the committee and plan sponsor.

  • Asset Class Representation +

    An array of asset classes and investment styles will be made available to plan participants so that they can create diversified portfolios with materially different risk‐return characteristics appropriate for their personal circumstances.

  • Fund Evaluation +

    An initial analysis of the client’s fund offerings with individual recommendations to Retain, Watch or Replace.

Ongoing

  • Quarterly Performance Monitoring +

    An ongoing analysis of each of the client’s fund offerings focusing on total return, risk-adjusted return, performance consistency, fund management, fees & expenses, and governance with individual recommendations to Retain, Watch or Replace.

  • Investment Style Monitoring +

    An analysis of the underlying holdings of each individual fund offering to ensure consistency with the asset class and style representation intended for the plan.

  • ERISA 404(c) Compliance Monitoring +

    Testing the plan’s funds versus the investment tenets of ERISA 404(c) to ensure they are satisfied in an effort to provide the committee limited relief of legal liability for any losses that are direct and a function of the investment directions given by a participant.

  • QDIA Due Diligence +

    An annual analysis of the plan’s Qualified Default Investment Alternative (QDIA) which includes peer-relative comparisons regarding glidepath, performance, risk, portfolio composition, and fees.

  • Stable Value Due Diligence +

    An annual analysis of the plan’s stable value fund offering to assess its continuing ability to create a rate of interest while preserving par value. Areas of focus include asset size, credit quality, portfolio duration, liquidity, maturity structure, and insurance wrap providers.

  • Fee & Service Benchmarking +

    An independent assessment of plan fees. Compares the services received from and expenses paid to plan service providers and investment managers to a customized and relevant peer group benchmark to evaluate the reasonableness.

  • Meeting Minutes +

    IRA Group prepares minutes for all committee meetings it attends and submits them to the fiduciary oversight committee for review and approval.

  • Online Fiduciary Center +

    An online client portal that houses fiduciary documents including the committee charter, investment policy, quarterly committee reports, fee and service benchmarking reports, fund searches, due diligence reports, and service agreements.

  • Fiduciary Training +

    IRA Group conducts fiduciary training to educate fiduciary committee members of their responsibilities and review recent litigation and legislative developments.

  • Vendor & Plan Management +

    Oversight of the administrative aspects of plan management and troubleshooting.

    An analysis of alternative funds to be considered by the fiduciary committee when an incumbent fund is not meeting performance guidelines as established in the plan’s investment policy.

    An analysis of the ability of plan participants to achieve retirement readiness based on their income, savings rates, and current balances. This proprietary report is prepared at the plan and individual participant level.

  • RFI / RFP +

    Detailed analysis and ranking of service provider experience, capabilities, and fees based on responses to a customized questionnaire. Management of all inquiries, next steps, and negotiations with potential providers as well as oversight of plan conversion if applicable.
